Shop Until You Drop Poem by Robert Macmillan

Shop Until You Drop

She was standing
In a crowded mall of way
Her knees; Questioning her stable stay
And what made the difference
Was of the look; Her face
Why so crowded, be my space
What in the world... Might there now be taking place
And as this moment, soon progressed my thought
Step in! Step forward, be at a quickened pace
For thought I; I saw what written on her face
Help me! Please someone to my aid
I'm drowning...
Spiraling down,
Weakening; Might be my health
And with no escape;
Have mercy... Please come help
So to her side...
Did I take a stance
And for one moment; Did exchange a glance
As I saw relief replace her grief... And in an instance, did I see
All what need this urgency; A woman come to term of pregnancy
Yet! Holding to a woman's prophecies
Shop Until You Drop; Took literally
So I became a father–figure...
A named after; Uncle be
That one fine afternoon
While standing ‘round...
Yet! Always at the ready; Soon
Making headway to the delivery room
With this true meaning learnt today
Of a woman's motto say:
Shop Until You Drop
A woman's way
Caught in full
