Short Circuit - Poem by Peter Rhodes

I reach into her eyes
That dazzle no more.
I gaze at her parched lips
Drained of energy.
I touch her check,
Cold, and burned by tears.
Silence,
Silence,
Silence.
Gone forever
Her soft voice, unamplified.
Lifeless.
Lifeless.
Lifeless.

Short Circuit.
