Sight Poem by Jacqualyn Abeni

Sight

I had a friend
who sat beside me
she was staring into space
so i asked her what she could see
she sat there for a minute or so
and finally she told me what was in her sight
she fumbled and fidgeted
i could tell it bothered her
and she said
this will sound crazy to you
it just might
my friend explained how the future was foretold
and thats what she could see
i frowned as she said
friends we will not be.

a couple of years down the road
i found that she was right
now my best friend
is no longer in my sight.
