Silent, Green Poem by Shane Markie

Silent, Green

Uttering damnation to the end,
The cypress speaks on syllables of wind.

Opening and closing the knothole of his eye,
The cypress stares in lamentation

Silent, green, undaunted
Against an ashen sky.
