Silent River Poem by Marie Williamson

Silent River

The water stood still.
Yet it seems to be full of life.
It seems to take deep breaths as people do.
How can it be?
Did God create water with life?
Does water really breathe?
Or is it just my imagination running wild?
As I stood by the lakes, oh, the water looks so great and seemed full of life.
Open my eyes, Lord.
Open and I will come in and sup with you.
Open the doors of my heart Lord.
I want you to come in and sup with me.
Open the doors of my heart Lord.
I want you to come in and sup with me.
Lord, I open the doors of my heart Lord to you.
So, you can come in and sup with me.
