Silent Storm - Poem by Nhyiraba Germain

A moment of time may make us unhappy forever
I have wronged you and to ask for mercy should be now or never
I can’t bear the pain of your silence
And the doubts that I may have stirred
Be lenient with me, for I admit I erred

Night after night my gushing eyes overflow
Led through a sad variety of woes
Tears fall in my heart
As rains fall on the city
My peace is gone my heart is heavy

Utter despair impossible to pull myself together
Alone I suffer for my mistakes
Missing you every step I take
Only when you have become satisfied with my suffering can I stop this grief
For hopeless hope hopes and meets no end
Hear my plea and make my pain end

Help me nurse our bond to grow
My soul drifts helplessly without you close
Like the blues, loneliness looms around me
Leaving me with the feeling of gloom
Don’t leave me in this corner of doom

Find it in your heart to forgive me
All I ask is a clean slate to start over
I can’t undo this thing that I’ve done
But I assure you it’s not going to happen again ever
For my sorrow has made me wiser
