Silk Poem by empty shell

Silk

an orchestras percussion sounds in your head
to the rhythm of plummeting silk
the slack in the twine starts to lay at your feet
as your heart ascends to your throat
close your eyes not, as you watch its descent
fear not for the, spiralling, kite
its colourful chest, lit up the sky
angels looked up with glee
the smiling sun, the sleepy clouds
both had a wonderful time
close your eyes not as you watch its descent
fear not for the, spiralling, kite
you held fast to it, with all of your heart
and ran as quick as you could
patiently gave it, more and more slack
and steered it into the wind
close your eyes not as you watch its descent
fear not for the, spiralling, kite
it smiles as it falls, laughing out loud
it has touched heavens
felt the sun
hugged the clouds
yet
it has one thought
as it crashes down...
it has flown only
only
for you.
