Simple Wish Poem by James Trusler

Simple Wish

Close your eyes and listen to music.
You will soon realise the torment when you can no longer hear it.
It should not be a difficult activity to appreciate reasoning in music and yet I am blinded by the splinters of my mind.
Is it so unnatural to yearn for something that is quite distant from reality. To yearn for something that is beyond desire's elasticity.
Why is the vision of an eternal green ever so deniable?
Why do the mountains seem so high when the universe is so big?
Is it wrong to punish oneself in a vision, to see whispering petals and winds that cry with passion.
My strength is all but lost and I know not where to find it.
I'll look behind my dream because It is unfair to myself to deny my simple wishes.
Forever more will the world decay, forever more.
