Simple Words Poem by Gerald Brann

Simple Words

Rating: 5.0

Two simple words are never enough
The way I hurt you, the way I hurt me.
Thoughs two simple words,
Their just the melody.

We bleed today because of my wrongs
We hurt today, and I wish it was gone.
And even though, three words you couldn’t speak
I know, I feel, I see.

Thoughs three words.. they were more then speech.

They were in your touch,
Your kiss, the very light in your eyes.
They sang from your lips, like sweet lullabies
And danced in our hearts, as only true love can.

Our souls they collide, together in time.
Twisted and shared between us so true.
We knew our love
Before we knew the other.

I can remember everything detail about you
When everything else is just a blur.
Thoughs two simple words..
I mean them so pure.

My wrongs can’t be erased
Forgotten or denied.
For my locked lips kept your heart away
My pride was just to much.

Behold! The ways of a fool in love.

How could I ever be so stupid
As to hurt you so?
With lies and locked lips,
I know I have wronged you.
To let fear rule my life
To deny my best friend.

Two simple words..
Can never be enough.

A simple thing like money and bills
My drive to provide
Oh what stupid things I’ve done.
What cowardly things I’ve done.

Now we lay down alone,
Our hearts bleed as one.
These two souls their weeping song being sung.
This pain.. all I’ve done.

Three words, not even close.
And these two simple words,
Just not enough.

So in our pain I implore you!
Through our loneliness so pure..
Our love will make it through
And we will endure!

From our pain we shall find growth
A growth so true,
Forever closer – me and you.

If we listen to our hearts
And feel with our souls
The picture is clear,
The path to behold.

Never has there been a love so right
This love so true, that there is this night.
Its in our hearts, our very souls.
These three little words..

And even though a clean break would be easy,
To run and hide so love can’t hurt you,
Nay, Standing and Fighting
Is surely the way to go.

For a love like ours,
Such a Divine gift.
Only comes once in a lifetime,
These three little words..
Only He can give.

This is the stuff that lives are made from,
The willingness to endure.
The ability to learn and grow together
As only true lovers can.

So here and now, I do swear
I’ll love you more, then these three words can compare.
With all my heart – I do declare
I will always be there.

Can’t you see?
That I’ll never give up.
I will never cause us to repeat this pain, this sorrow and fear.
Hand in hand, heart to heart.
No more lies, no more secrets.
In His presence I swear.

So now I beg you,
I implore you from the bottom of my heart
A Second Chance..

One last chance,
For a love that will be forever more.

Amber, I love you.
My three simple words.
Amber, I miss you.
My three simple words.

Oh how I want to be your reason,
As you are mine.
And I want to make you happy
As you share your life with mine.

To see your smile across your lips
To feel your touch upon my fingertips

For the rest of our lives
Three little words..
Never so true, never so right
As they are between me and you.
