Sinking Into Myself Poem by Warun Chugh

Sinking Into Myself

Walking footsteps
Down the exempt lane
Again set ablaze
With that soothing pain

Unseen roads
Smiling stones
Shrinking trust
Yet waiting alone

Yet another wrong turn
And downpour of tears
Slaughter of hope
And serenade of fears

Secluded in corner
With silent eyes
Strangled by your absence
And those sacred lies

Nurturing my wounds
Turning more pale
Trapping all you memories
Behind the veil

Brittle dreams
Insomniac nights
Dawning smiles
Looking for respite

Abandoned by my shadow
In the happy hour of assault
And the time is put
To an abrupt halt

Victim of reality
So insoluble and dull
And what follows is an
Interminable lull

Fractured expectations
Widowed voice
Once pouring efforts
Now left with no choice

Hollow echoes
Of moaning memories
Plundered aroma
Of all the ecstasy

Enslaved by solitude
Prepared for fall
Yet seeking peace
For my eclipsed soul

Heavy. I like it. Strange but soothing. A rich flow, very vivid..............
