Six Months Later! Poem by Titus Kirega

Six Months Later!

Let us wait!
'We'll do it after six months! ' I remember this bait...
But now my hands were tied but still wandered in the desert to get water..
I searched and searched....till I could feel the distance become shorter!
Like an athlete I knew it was such a long way-
But could this be the wrong way?
Over plains and mountains I passed through....
With hope to hold on to
But a bait that stands to be true!
There, there, there....
Finally I found and the oasis stood there...
Should I wait coz I care?
Or is this a bad dare?
Lots of water could be seen but the owner stood there!
Should I borrow the water or should I not be scared?
'STOP' I thought! 'This to her might not be so fair.'
So now I stood beside the water yet I couldn't quench of it....
I was dying of thirst but I couldn't even sip!
I thought; What is right?
I left the grey area and stood in white...
I gave her, instead, the water....
And just like we agreed I'll drink it six months later!
