Sky Poem by Lilo Mendaca

Sky

The colour races across the thunder
That rumbles with blind fury

Booming

Crying out

The drizzle interlocks its reflection
To the gentle lightning that blazes rapidly
Across the blue
that weaves the clouds
Into weightless dreams

Lulling

Grasping for
The flailing arms of lost souls

And me

But the colour darkens
And the sky folds

Forming a canopy
That covers the light
Bringing forth a ghastly tune
Mocking at
All things incomplete

The heavens salivate

Dripping with sticky acidity
And the liquid shoves me back into

A space between

the world and itself

I reach
And pull for the surface
Lunging for the skies

But the honey drowns me out
And I sink even deeper
As I fall behind grace
