Sleep Poem by Angela R. M. Ferrer

Sleep

tonight, I tell myself to sleep
shut away all those memories
just fly away

I painted all the stars in the sky
thinking all the lights will distract me
but the radiance coming through from the

other side
of my world, of my world
shone perfectly still on that beautiful moon
I saw your face once more
I fall to my knees, ooh, oh, why do you do this

to me
didn't I, oh didn't I tell you how much I

wanted to spend my eternity...

tonight, I tell myself to sleep
shut all those memories
just fly away

turn around
let it go
let it sink
over time
it will fade

I am tired now.
Cause all I ever did
was hold, was hold, on you

I can't stop the pain
oh, oh, because of you

tonight
I tell myself
fly away
dream away
shut away

triumphant
singing birds
will woe me in
the morning
