Sleep Poem by empty shell

Sleep

Finding sleep improbably, I toss
Waiting for the inevitable, I turn
As sleep beckons me closer to you,
thoughts start to percolate

I toss and turn without you

Wandering through my skull,
I catch glimpses of you
My lids start to flutter
and I feel you near

Here and there, toss and turn

Hey
What are you doing?
Go back to sleep
Close your eyes
so I can kiss you again

Finally..... you are here
Is that all it took?
I would've called you earlier
but I couldn't sleep myself

Now we toss and turn together

Miles apart you are in my arms
Planting light wet kisses,
on my rapidly moving eyes,
until the stars fade away

I toss and turn, you awake
Sorry,
close your eyes
so I can kiss you again
