Sleeping Beauty Poem by Makeiah De'Ajahla Karmea Adams

Sleeping Beauty

On the sunny day,
Where the ocean was whispering,
The birds were talking, chirping loudly,
She still didn’t awake to the noise.
The goddess lay unaware of her visitors.
They stared at her beauty,
Desired her looks, her soul
Envied her appearance even more.
She was beautiful sight to see,
Her sleeping beauty, unaware
of this dream.

The awaken her from her sleep,
This precious beauty was deep,
She opens her eyes seeing her tail,
She was frightened and scared,
The men helped her to the water,
Where she was happy to be.
She winked her eye,
As she floated off into the sea.

This goddess of beauty was unaware,
That her life was saved by these men,
She was destined to give them,
All they desired.
She was the sleeping beauty,
In their fairytale.
