Sleepless Nights Poem by Gad Ashther

Sleepless Nights

Rating: 1.0

Feeling sleepy yet so awake
Can't even care, not for my own sake
A life to waste, A soul to take
The ones I hold dear are true yet fake

The sounds of crickets crowd the night
The lowly darkness drowns the light
The nightmares and dreams I awake from,
The death I fear, soon to come

The howls of evil that pass by
The shouts from the slain, when they cry
The pointless effort in every try
The powerful word, known as why

The love of my life, disappearing
My heart full of joys, slowly tearing
The ugly truth, with no need of seeing
These sleepless nights, are unappealing
