Slow Arsenic Poem by Yoosaph Aayala

Slow Arsenic

Rating: 2.5

Moonsky is an ocean
Roaring to the dreams with
Disheveled white hair
Of premature old age.
Its flying flocks
Drank a dose of arsenic
Dancing in the paddocks
Of suffering and ignominy.
The cost of living
Mingled with a slow poison
siblings consumed
mum and dad alike.
Floating horizon slowly
Lowered the curtain
The scenery of clouds
Moved apart to the darkroom.
Doors of their house
Shut with a thud
their bedroom lamp
turned off with their eyes.
