Slow Paradoxes Poem by Richard G Berg

Slow Paradoxes

Watching my cats
Come and go
Purring their pleasures
And curling their woes

Sliding between states
Of being and doing
Never quite knowing
Their never quite wooing

Unassuming never unamusing
Preoccupied, with themselves
Detached in attachment
Self-possessed and possessing their poise

Acutely still and twitching true to noise
Resting hunters and demonic angels
I realise they have it
These statements in fur
Slow paradoxes making life purr
