Sludge Cities Poem by Tribhuvan Mendiratta

Sludge Cities

Descending upon any Metro city,
A dull orange haze engulfs.
Showing cascading shanty towns,
Clogged arteries of slices of populace.
Haze throbs with a dull glow
With giant mass of dust and smog below,
Full of contradictions: horrors and delights,
Achievements and atrocities,
Dirty, disgusting mountains of garbage
Dumpsters turned - overflowing with sludge
Glutinous from thousands of daily passersby,
Gradually spilling beyond cities by and by.
