Smaller Beginnings Poem by Prince Kenny Osei

Smaller Beginnings

In the nooks & crannies

When no applauds were shown

We stood our grounds

In the unending days

When no man voiced out

in sincerity to accelerate

this vision, we stood our grounds

In the wavering days

When the sky never seemed

to be in favour of our profound trait,

We stood our grounds

Those cold mornings

When friendliness never

seemed to be a gesture

carried out by man,

we stood our grounds

In the days gone

When dreams nearly faded

And pessimists nearly celebrated,

We stood our grounds

Once the sea

never dried up

And the birds that perch

On the balcony of my neighbour

never seized to mute their sequential

notes of music; emanating from the

apex of their beaks to the anvil

of our ears,

We stood our grounds

This is what we have become!
