Smiles And Cries Poem by Franklin M Kline

Smiles And Cries

In life's short journey, a friendship true,
Is a treasure so rare for the both of you.
A genuine bond where you give and share,
In joys and sorrows, who will always be there.

Beware of the ones who charm and take,
With false intent and smiles so fake.
They draw you in with such kind eyes,
Only to hurt you and leave you to die.

A true friend's heart is pure and kind,
It's given freely with peace of mind.
It's staying true through thick and thin,
True friends are family until the end.

But those who seek you for only their gain,
Give endless sorrow and endless pain.
They will drain your spirit and take your light,
And leave you in the dark alone to fight.

Seek friends who lift you when you fall,
Who will answer the phone if you should call.
In giving and taking, there's a balance that lies,
With true affection just like smiles and cries.

Avoid the ones who flatter first,
Their praise a prelude to the worst.
Authentic friends show their worth,
In actions true, and not rehearsed.

Look for those whose hearts are true,
Who find their joy in lifting you.
They're with you when you rise up tall,
And will open their arms if you should fall.

In friendship's dance, the truth resounds,
In mutual care, where true love is found.
For in this life, the bonds we cast,
Are built on trust and built to last.

So guard your heart, be wise, be strong,
In seeking friends who right your wrongs.
For in this world where people lie,
True friendships are something rare,
We do not let them die.
