Smoke And Flowers Poem by Daniel Madmon

Smoke And Flowers

Everything changes
Everything changes,
Smoke takes shapes
Smoke fades away.

The city's lights
blind us,
the stars
merge with the dark.

Everything changes
Everything changes
But ain't it all the same?
ain't it all just dust with fire?
Or maybe they are wrong
maybe they are wrong.

We were once the animals
The witches in the woods,
out of the water we were born
out of the sun's breath,

Our fathers gave us those words
our mothers taught us through the spirit
the song of the trees,
the poem written
in the stars.

We are stars with scarlet fire
in our veins the ocean roams
in our veins the ocean roams,
In our lungs
Trees breath,
Flowers cover my eyes
Flowers cover my eyes
Flowers
Flowers
Flowers
Bloom!
