Smokey Taste Poem by DiAnne Douglass

Smokey Taste

The taste of smoke upon my lips
Is nothing but a twinge of bliss
Ashy and distinctive
A flavor I cannot quite place
So let me try again

The taste of your lips
Is smokey and alluring
Though some might find it repulsive
And not quite understand
My fascination with your taste

It tastes so different
It feels inviting
Your smokey scent
Begging me to breathe deep
And kiss you again

Many dislike those who smoke
But I find it exciting
No kiss is quite the same
The taste, so phenomenal
It leaves me wanting more

I know I'll never change you
You like smoking way too much
Without a cigarette, your mouth feels lonely
There's no way you'd ever stop
So instead of begging and pleading for you to quit
I'll let you shut me up
With another smokey, intoxicating kiss

Maybe if we kiss enough
Smoking will come second
To my sweet lips
But until that time
Kiss me with your smokey lips
