Smooth Shadows In The Night Poem by Naveed Akram

Smooth Shadows In The Night

The shadows are darker than nightmares of the past,
The smooth work of their highness is awkward and upsetting;
This is the dark regard, the story of a man who respects us,
The inner delight must soothe our repose, our respite.

The shadows of a night reside in the heart that works together
With innocence of the clothes and tissues of the skin;
Sleep works to soothe the being of an ancient poetic stanza,
Smooth is the result, smoother than lines of conjecture.

The shadows murkily conjoin, forcing shadows, bigger children,
Many minions of talent, like the smooth contours of the statues
Present in the state of the gruelling room, the room of darkness,
Working in a smooth condition, offering the shadows a helping hand.
