Snail - For Meritxell - Poem by Charl JF Cilliers
It leaves a moonlit
trail of slime
as it begins its
upward climb.
Like a clipper
straining up the steep
slope of a wave
it slowly creeps.
Up and up the steep
green slope it goes
to suck the rainbow
from the rose.
