Sea Breeze at my side
Sand and ants on toes
Sucking soursop seeds
As fish fly by
Shorebirds shuffle in the lapping waves
A red globe grows
Impregnating all with its fiery life
Wave upon wave
Mountain upon mountain
Cloud upon cloud
are aflame
As the night falls
Crabs scuttle on shore
And I feel the earth healing
As its healing me
No more haze from indo fires
No more cyanided and dynamited reefs
Snake Island Palawan is alive!
I celebrate this place
Walking naked in the moonlight
though newly planted mangroves
The rising tide bubbles through my toes
And as I lay my head back in the sand
The tide begins to rise in me
I Gaze at the stars
and slowly but firmly close my eyes
and hope and dream of the day
I will be here with you
