Snuggle Now Poem by C H Sund

Snuggle Now

When night air brings chill
and morning’s light discovers
whitish residue shadows lurking
you awake to a season new, renewing.

As fawns lose spotted camouflage
birds wing vees in reverse flight and
land begins to settle with leafy blankets
anticipating coldness… coming.

Frolicking no longer, squirrels hoarding
as bees desperately seek flowers last drink
or sugared treats of picnic guests
while smoke trails perfume leafy scents.

Spring may give the poets words rebirth
but fall sings its special tune to captured ears.
Warmth of fire and warmth of heart combine,
a renewal not of life but of love, love rekindled.

Snuggle now, its snuggling time.
