So Far Away I'D Fly Poem by Heath Gunn

So Far Away I'D Fly

Away,
Away,
So far away.
So far away I'd fly.

Up,
And up,
And further still,
Further in the sky.

Where there are no walls or barriers,
nor chains to hold me down.
I'd simply soar up throught the clouds,
high above the ground.

The freedom as on wings they fly,
that birds in flight must feel.
Is something i can only dream,
to me, will never be.

For onto ground my feet do hold,
and not in boundless blue.
Mine is to imagine,
a vast unbordered view.

The title is just right, and the poem flows along like a blue, mental river. It's intelligent, revealing and imaginative. In a word, it's perfect.
