So It Is... Poem by Vincent Cibelli

So It Is...

Swirling candy canes and polaroids, tycoons of butter biscuits
Mom is there hand in lap with that look of
Stop your looking, looking at me
Fantansies fake forged nuetrons
While i remain inattentive looking for the next word
Stop those little critters gnawing on my lines

Zap, zAp power falirue grab the flashlights, stumble over batteries
Is this another conspiracy.
Look at them watch... their watching you and me
hiding behing ventetian blinds
whenever we glance their way
bless those lives, all sacred lives
That kill and comfort betray and befriend
Bless or dont bless as it is it shall be
and monkey will have the last laugh

Can monkies enter heaven... that includes you
who is it reserved for. The family pet... and which wife...
the first that died or the second your with
am i young or old in the afterlife
or shall i simply resign myself to the dirt

I fell out of a bag of candy after a movie
It was about the old testament
Neon surgeons with crows feet scalples
Nurse purse kirk is lurkin'
RUn daddy before the audit lands on your bill
what lies what thrill
Run faster in the sun. Push up in octopus fashion
Empty trash can have to be rationed
and if he says my god it cant be done
STick him encourage him and lose him

On the back roads, and my heart
Black flowers and kisses in the dark
I saw eight cheese stick paintings
My hunger overwhelmed me
Mad is how they found me and mad i was in town for a time
Asking questions of the poor and answering the demands
Of an unsatisfied government
Rule is hard number 1

Number one is after we host the olympics
And get rid of these Sushi Cars
Swiming in this sea of indescision and prosperity or loins
Bless the peace maker
ANd the sense that makes cents
