So Who Would Be A Mother Poem by carole turner

So Who Would Be A Mother

The minutes
And
The hours
The
Seconds
And
The days
I've held you close
Forever
And now i'm pushed
so far
Away.

I sit and weep
In silence
And wait
eternally
For the love
To be rekindled
Across the roaring sea.

So who would be
A Mother?
I ask myself
Why me!
I've loved
And lost
And what a cost
This separation be

So I sit
And I pray
In silence
And wait eternally
For the love to be rekindled
Across the roaring sea
