Social Programming (Socially Programmed) Poem by Demetrius JonesDixon

Social Programming (Socially Programmed)

I'm socially programmed to use the word "nigga"
As a term of endearment
I use it when calling someone ignorant
The color of your skin doesn't mean anything to me
If you're ignorant, you're getting called out by your first name
I'm programmed to reject gays
In fact, gay is as a way to say "stupid"
I have no issues with gay people, nor do I feel they are "less than human"
I just don't like the fact that straight people AND gay people separate themselves
We're not two different groups
We're still very much the same
Taught to hate my appearance and worship the "prettier" people
Why?
My energy and personality is more gorgeous
One head of the dragon of bs
Is "prettier" people disdaining "uglier" people
Because many of them have actual self-confidence in themselves
I makes me laugh just for that fact
It didn't take me that long to realize
What I am, what you're not, and what you could be
Don't think I'm sweating your hate
It permeates my spirit and makes it stronger
Thank you
I'm programmed to fight amongst my familia
Over religion, politics, money, etc.
Forget that, god!
I don't care what it can do for me!
I need to know what it can do for us all!
I'm socially programmed to have no respect for self
And disrespect women
The former was an eternal struggle
With the latter, it has always been an annoying mysterious struggle
Possibly paying for past life karma

To cope with these scars
To venture forth from my shell and dive
Head first into my dreams
Realize then, with real eyes
Put in work and get out what I need
I need to live, my life, for me, but still respect yours
Help when I can
Work to open all charkas
Not just your Third Eye
Slowly work to unclog and unblock all seven
I want 2013 to be a year of art, ahk
Hacking this matrix and detaching
To quote The Addiction
"I know half the truth and that's clearly half more than you'll recognize"

Shalom
