Soft And Moist As The Morning Dew Poem by Tommy Szamosi

Soft And Moist As The Morning Dew

What color are my eyes?
your sultry voice inquired,
I searched their endless depths
for answers you truly desired,
In your front seat as the passenger
I looked at you, the driver,
'Dark', I said with a silly smile,
though I know I could have tried harder.

Immersed in them I sat transfixed
like a deer 'tween headlights bright,
Parked we were in the lot alone
much to our eager hearts' delight,
It wasn't the moon that winked on high,
not the thousand twinkling stars,
Ever so gently my lips touched yours
when I saw 'Yes, please' in your eyes.

Then my mind took a trip down memory lane
to high school days after class,
Teased and pleased by teenage girls
who drove me insane with their... sass.
Soft and moist as the morning dew,
your delicate lips slightly parted,
That's when I realized that life was good,
'cause 'You and I' had just started.
