Sold Souls Poem by Chukwuebuka Adebayo

Sold Souls

Who are you when the tug was tight
The one in the dark where roads cross
Where did you go when we say goodnight
Are you there singing late in the dance-all
Too young and you don't know how to live
You always wanted to buy this and that
You and your friends were four and five
Chasing after iPhones and expensive cars
You always said you would get it done
Fame, fine women and money, we all hunt
Like world is ours and we asked to be born
Now you're dead and can't get what you want? .
Is this all you get after one sells his soul?

Now the forest's on fire, there's no birds on tree
Police are out for those involve in your demise
But their demon's strong than beat them to knee
But i wonder why schools don't make us wise
To know we can't skip pain, they're our doors latch
They makes our shoes fits, they're holes
Life is short, we all watching our wrist watch
It is so long and will end soon tommorow.
My Radio's playing it, the country's screaming
Just Like little children in their school bus
Your songs are making us cry and it's raining
Hope you can make me understand thus,
If this is all you get after one sells his soul?
