Soldiers Fall Poem by Dan Tipton

Soldiers Fall

Rating: 2.7

His honor, he cries, is wounded by foes
With his voice he threatens many woes!
The king sits safe within great walls,
And one by one the soldiers fall

“I am one with God” the clergyman cries!
“I alone get orders from on High.
Do only as I say, one and all”
And one by one the soldiers fall

We are right, they are wrong.
The council states with army strong.
Only we know what’s right for people all.
And one by one the soldiers fall

They stand arrayed, for all to see
Children proud, of you and me
Trained and strong, warriors all
For them we weep,
as one by one the soldiers fall.
