Solitaire Poem by Vishnu Pandit

Solitaire

Like that solitaire adorning your finger,
Radiating sparks of love and luck flew;
I wore you in my life,
The moment I set my eyes on yours, I knew...

Pieces of puzzle we figured out
And the joys of struggle we enjoyed;
On mountain top like the snow we were
And like the moonlit ocean, dreams buoyed...

I loved you sometimes for a reason, others
I found your hand in mine;
You dived to the depths of my heart
To bring me strength, a pearl so fine...

Knitting an ornate presence
As we treaded further in time;
Your heart beats for me and
Likewise I felt for mine...

It's hard to forget those words
Which asked for our crown;
The King and Queen of each other's fable,
The worlds then went upside down...

Left are those colourless pictures,
Music with no sound;
Pieces of a shattered dream
With no to pick'em up around...

That star has now faded,
Gone is it's spark;
Breathing still, only to sing
‘Stronger' with Kelly Klark.
