Solitude Poem by Gunnar Barkenhammar

Solitude

Somewhere, someone matching me
Walking by but not just here
May be some day the doorbell rings
Nursing hope to ease the soul

Souls will meet where roads will cross
Two it takes to walk the way
Two it takes to share the work
Two it takes to share the wine

Gym and jogging, keep on moving
Soaking sweat, intense work out
Cooling down the burning flame
Loosing time in locker room

Active life with art and plays
Women network, ladies club
Evening class and Sunday choir
Squeezing time as substitute

One we are, my work and me
Ostrich stress an easy route
Borrowed time for taking turns
Wasted waiting line detour

Opera soap is cleansing grey
From daily muddle normal days
The box’ luring luxury life
A virtual glimpse of stolen glee

Virtual world is world as well
Crystal clear to groggy mind
Brilliant thoughts are flowing free
Far away from real world

To escape by laying gives
some peace to restless mind
Her helper through the night
Will bring a cast of thought

Why here, me, at this point in time
Stuck in splendid solitude
Tied to roots at twosome town
Far from pulse and meeting place

A string of hope for time to catch
Mr. Right is running fast
Away from singly cobra bite
Time and temper have to match

Bewildered helmsman reckless ship
Her twosome dream is heading wreck
And left alone on Christmas Eve
On Birthdays, Paydays, Maydays
