Solitude Poem by Nidhi Jha

Solitude

Taking me in its arms,
And its waves touching my cores,
The solitude enveloped me,
Led me away,
Enchanted me,
Filled me with every essence of it.
And I traveled-
On unknown waves
Away from the shore.
Gripping my heart with its scent,
Giving me a place in its world,
It nursed my wounds
And healed my scars.
I rested and O! the calmness I found.
O! the comfort and the sleep,
And the echoes of the lullaby.
In the crowd where many met me
And many left
I have lived for ages and can tell
Figures may leave you
But solitude never leaves you alone.

It took me in its lap,
Blessed me with its presence,
Walked me to the caves of silence,
Dried my tears,
Removed my fears,
Made me fall for it,
And made a better me.
I got wrong,
I was wronged,
And when I had nothing
I had that Solitude to call mine.
I have lived with it and can say-
People may leave,
But Solitude never leaves you alone.
