Midwinter solstice
There is ice upon the ground
But the Jackdaw waits
When the sparrows leave the feeder
There will still be seed enough
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Slipping adroitly
Between sunshine and showers
I walk the Beach path
Sunlight warm against my neck
Avoiding icy puddles
