Some Days Poem by Katherine H. Belle

Some Days

Some days I just feel so lost.
Like I'm the fleeting memory of a life that was once lived.
I feel like I'm in the middle of a crowded room,
but no one sees me.
No one hears me screaming.
No one sees my tears.
Today I awoke.
But without a purpose.
Today I ate
But my hunger was not quelled.
My breath was not deep enough.
My eyes not shining.
My face is no longer my own.
I look in the mirror and
only see a pair of floating eyes.
Eyes that are dead and longing.
The darkness comforts me.
Solitude is my companion.
I care not to see another face.
Not another voice in my ear
telling me how I am ammounting to nothing.
Because I know.
I know who I am.
I know what I am.
A shadow.
lost in the blackest darkness.
