Some Do Some Don'T
I'm so glad you phoned
I know you wanted
to come
but couldn't
too many things
in the way
it was so nice
to hear your voice
the lilt of your laughter
the note of expectation
happines and joy
though I can't hug you
hold you close
I know you are there
some loneliness
has vanished
with the holiday cheer
even a glossy greeting card
is better
than none at all
saying
