Someone Called 'Me' Poem by Mark Ebbers

Someone Called 'Me'

Someone called 'me'...

I am not blind, though I cannot see...
I am the person in the mirror, that I call “me”.

I walk over to the window pain and look outside,
I see children playing without a care in mind.
A bird gently lands up high in a tree, folding her wings..
Her voice starts to sing a soft melody...

There is so much beauty in this world, that my eyes often cannot see...
Worries would blind my eyes and change the world in front of me...

So often I don’t take time to look at children play, and worry about a new game that fills the stores today.
So often I don’t hear the sound of a bird singing her melody, and wake up with loud rock music that would damage my ears.

I am a person that can see true beauty or be blinded by silly fears..
I am a person with a heart full of love, though I have shed my tears...

I guess I am me, not more or less..
I am just a person like all the rest...
Sometimes I am blind, sometimes I see...
These things are just a small part of me,
A heart filled with love, a heart filled with fear...
Somethings in life are certain...
somedays are filled with laughter others will be with tears.
