Someone Like You Poem by Hal Caufield

Someone Like You

It rained that day.
Though I did not feel a drop.
The skies were gray.
But I was lost
In the blueness of your eyes.
New York harbor, roses, all those ships.
Nothing mattered.
I was lost in the azure of perfect Caribbean seas.
The day was supposed to be all about you.
But you turned it into the world for me.
How do I thank you, my love, for teaching me.
For I have learned.
Though I live a thousand years
And search all the lands and all the seas,
I will never find someone like you.
