Something About The Hat Poem by Laurence Overmire

Something About The Hat

When she wore the hat
She became transformed
A woman to be reckoned with
No flighty, peroxide dish-head
To be emasculated by some un-masculine
Urge of a roaming bicep.

No.

Her nerve was grounded in the center of the earth
An unmatched beauty ushered from her form
A mystical power, borne across time
Channeled through the diadem of an Egyptian Queen
The wisdom of the ages gleaming
In her eyes.
