SOMETHING I LOOK AT-341
BY-SMRUTI RANJAN MOHANTY
Can't say
how it happened,
why did it happen and its timing?
It came like a super cyclonic wind and blew me away to an unknown island where I became a new me
It came like a summer shower,
completely drenched my body and mind and for a while took me to the seventh heaven only to expose me to unbearable heat and humidity the next morning
No regrets
I relished the summer shower,
and now with pleasure, I will endure the sun and humidity.
That moment which came my way is larger than everything.
With that moment I can live a thousand lives in a solitary island romancing with my memory.
Your brief stay in my life
made me full and I do not need anyone's company to walk on the lonely corridor of life.
Your memory is with me
Do I need anything?
You are in me,
in my breath and blood
Nothing, even death can snatch you away from me
I do not need anything
I am only alive to see you shining.
If not for yourself, live for me
the way I live for you, my darling
