Sometimes One Just Knows Poem by Ray Hansell

Sometimes One Just Knows

I could see the struggle
When I looked in your eyes
The fact that I can read you
Should not come as a surprise

People get to know each other
With the passing of time
It doesn't mean that I
Am capable of reading your mind

It's just from knowing you
Through the passing years
I see when you are happy
I can pick up on your fears

I'm sure that there are times
When you can do the same
But I know that you
Will never make that claim

But it's safe to say
That at a time or two
People can figure out
Just what others may be going through

It's not that we're mind readers
Or have a crystal ball
It's just at times you can recognize
When someone is about to fall
