Somewhere In Africa Poem by Fagbeyide Kehinde John

Somewhere In Africa

SOMEWHERE IN AFRICA

the sun's heat's over this passing state
and darkness the real figure of her day
chanting sad cries in high refrains
reflecting the no sunny day's tears

somewhere in Africa, where murder's preaching
somewhere in Africa is the song of death
'you're just a chapter in our book of blood'
the voice of one speaking in her sultanate
who's become the stygian soldat ruling her state

somewhere in Africa, is the voice of hunger singing a conflicting hymn
telling her birthed to search for a greener pasture
tho no shepherd to watch over their souls

somewhere in Africa, is the man in air condition
preaching to her inhabitants, that it'll soon be well
when he hath devoured the state's purse

somewhere in. Africa, is a calling for girls misuse
muting them in a high blowing force
pressuring and promising them of a better future
tho no living hope in their lay

somewhere in Africa, where boys are left uncared for
where no fatherly love to create a smile on their face
and was made to take on the saying 'you're a man, then you can live'

somewhere in Africa, is the hot wind blowing
full of saddening composition whom no man can deduce its future

somewhere in Africa is poverty
rulling her birthed empires in shame
and beeping death to perform his mandate

somewhere in Africa! the black continent
saddening shade we no more want
tho we're star crossed
who'll come and stand for us
for somewhere here in Africa is our people falling
