Son Poem by Tristen Wentling

Son

Son,

I'll never forget that only day,
I held you in my arms.

I'll never forget the way you lay
Peaceful, innocent, still.

I'll never forget showing you the way,
Your path to God you've found.

I'll never forget the pain that stays,
For eternity you are bound.

I'll never forget, my sweetest babe,
Not in heart nor hope nor will.

I'll never forget that only day,
Short but filled with charms.

I'll never forget, in heaven you play,
And one day so will I.
