Son Of God Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Son Of God

Rating: 0.5

The prophets told of his arrival,
And we had to ensure his survival.
He'd be the one for our salvation,
And rescue us from eternal damnation.

His birth would be simple without glory,
But it would be an everlasting story.
Only a few would be able to witness,
The child that would lead us to bliss.

The brightest star would show the way,
to the savior that was born on this day.
Three wise men had traveled for miles,
To see this boy who'd go through trials.

They brought gifts for this future king,
For the glory that he'd someday bring.
There was an essence about this child,
Although he seemed so meek and mild.

The angel warned that he'd be in danger,
So they'd have to leave the manger.
The mother had to travel with her baby,
In order to get him away to safety.

The star still served as a guiding light,
To show them the way through the night.
The wise men knew that he'd carry the rod,
For they just witnessed the Son of God.
