Sonnet #1 Poem by robert down

Sonnet #1

My dreams consumed by you, so was my heart
When you stole it, you could keep it from me
Until it could return to pump these veins
That keep my mind as a shrine to your heart
As we first met I knew there was something
That kept me from looking away from you
Your hair shimmered as we watched the sunrise
And so did your blank smile of beauty
I returned to declare myself to you
But you were not there, and I became lost
These three months have now passed, I worry that
These memories will only inhabit
Corners of my infatuated mind
There are all I have, unless I see you
