Sonnet: Coma Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Coma

Awaken man from slumber most profound!
The surgery concluded long ago;
Cease sleep and listen to the sounds around;
Come out of dreamy state, you undergo!

Your heart is beating strongly once again;
Your lungs are working almost normally;
Let consciousness come back to you to reign;
Awaken man, you mustn’t dilly-dally!

’Tis time you moved your body parts with tone;
Let mind control flesh, skeleton and joints;
You’re back to world where you are not alone;
The Holy Spirit heals men and anoints!

Give up your stupor man, begin to talk!
Ingest your food and slowly try to walk!
